In this course, students design and build programmable robots using high-quality motors, sensors, gears, wheels, axles, and other technical components. By using hands-on robotics, students will gain a better understanding of how the technology works in real-world applications.
The easy-to-learn, easy-to-use EV3 Software and the EV3 Programming will be used to program the robot. Programming is done by dragging and dropping icons into a line to form commands allowing students to build simple programs, and then easily and intuitively build on their skills until they are developing complex algorithms.
The solution enables students to understand and interpret two-dimensional drawings to create three-dimensional models; build, test troubleshoot and revise designs to improve robot performance; Gain practical, hands-on experience using mathematical concepts such as estimating and measuring distance, time and speed.
PS: The instructor will work with parents to form an FLL team and guide them to compete for the next FLL season that starts in August. Students must be enrolled two semesters in a row to be proficient and get prepared. FLL is a wonderful program has three areas, (1) Robot Game where a robot will have to solve missions autonomously (visual programming and machine mechanisms) (2) Robot Design, Robot mechanisms and (3) Project - where the team comes up with a solution to a real-world problem.
Seats are limited, max students 10 only. The classes start from Sunday, Jan 20.

Level 2: Simple Machines

The Simple Machines program provides students in grades 3–5 with a deeper understanding of science
and engineering concepts. It introduces and embeds the concepts and knowledge of Simple Machines as
Wheels and Axles, Levers, Pulleys and how these are used in daily life to make our work simple. These
concepts are learned by introducing problem, teaching concepts and hands-on building activities to
build objects as Merry go round, popcorn cart, go-cart (with and without steering), Wheel Barrow,
Catapult, Rail-road crossing gate, crazy floors, crane, see-saw etc. In the end the kids are given a
problem to solve, which they solve using the building materials provided and concepts learned.

The “Simple Machines” curriculum covers the following Crosscutting Concepts and overall Science and
Engineering Practices, which have been set forth in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
The activities lead students to make initial use of scientific method through observation, reasoning,
prediction, and critical thinking.
