Janvi began her formal dance training in 2010, initially learning Bollywood and Kathak. During her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas in Austin, she danced competitively in the collegiate circuit with UT Ajooba, was founder and director of UT Jazba, and ended her collegiate career dancing with Texas Raas. Throughout her years at UT, she was exposed to many different styles, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Raas/Garba/Dandiya, Bhangra, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Latin. She has travelled to India to train with India’s Got Talent winner Dr. Ragini Makkhar in the Lucknow gharana of Kathak, and continues her Kathak training under Anjali Magi here in Dallas, TX. Her hip hop training continues as part of The Lab crew based in West Covina, CA. Simultaneously, Janvi is a professional dancer and dance faculty at Blue Flame Performing Arts in Dallas.
